An Approach to Determine Optimal Bow Configuration of Polar Ships under Combined Ice and Calm-Water Conditions

چکیده
Selecting an optimal bow configuration is critical to the preliminary design of polar ships. This paper proposes approach determine ships based on present numerical simulation and available published experimental studies. Unlike conventional methods, integrates both ice resistance calm-water with navigating time. A method icebreaking vessel going straight ahead in level developed using SPH (smoothed particle hydrodynamics) technique LS-DYNA. The results for are satisfactory agreement data. configurations superior capability obtained by analyzing sensitivities due buttock angle γ, frame β waterline α. calculated FVM (finite volume method). Finally, overall index devised from ship ice/water weighted their corresponding navigation time proposed. can be used evaluating integrated performance operating a water route route.
